Silent Companions
Silent Companion paintings are a European decorative art form which is more than three hundred years old.  From the 17th to the 19th century, artists surprised and delighted their patrons with life-size figures painted with vivid realism on wood panels cut as flat silhouettes. The most outstanding examples were portraits of actual people or pets.  Working life-size in oil on hard wood that is cut to the figure's outline, artist Michele Greenstein revives this centuries old tradition.  To commission a silent companion of your pet please see Ordering Information.
